Youth Advisory Council: Call for Nominations 2023

The City is currently looking for dynamic and committed candidates who wish to volunteer and serve on the Youth Advisory Council from January 2023 to August 2024. Exceptionally, given that the Council’s calendar is in a year of transition, candidates will hire for a term of 20 months. Subsequent terms will be 12 months.

The Youth Advisory Council was set up in November 2018 to allow 10 bilingual Pointe-Claire young people, aged 14 to 21, involved in the community, to contribute to municipal life. To do this, the Commission is supported by a member of the Municipal Council, a member of the Town’s staff and a representative of the school.

During their mandate, the members of the council analyze the projects and make recommendations to the municipal council with a view to improving activities, municipal services and public facilities to better meet the needs of young people in Pointe-Claire and encourage participation. young people in their environment. and in their community.

Members of the Youth Advisory Council meet monthly. Those interested in becoming a member must be available to attend an average of one meeting per month on Wednesdays.

The Youth Advisory Council is active on Instagram to share its projects and ideas with young people in Pointe-Claire, and so that they can follow the issues that matter to them.

Young residents of Pointe-Claire who wish to get involved in their community have until September 10, 4 p.m., to submit their application. Applicants will be evaluated based on criteria such as community engagement.
