The deal agreed to build a huge new pharmaceutical operation in Warwickshire

An agreement has been reached for the construction of a new large pharmaceutical facility in a business park in Warwickshire.

Clowes Developments, which operates Tournament Fields in Warwick, traded contracts for a 26,000 square foot design and build project for Manx Healthcare at the site.

The purpose-built 26,000 square foot industrial / warehouse facility will be located on 1.25 acres of land known as 8003 at the logistics and distribution center.

Manx Healthcare is an independent family business that develops, manufactures and supplies high quality pharmaceutical products.

The company has built both a ‘generic’ and ‘over the counter’ portfolio that it supplies to customers across the UK, including the NHS, and beyond.

Already based in Warwickshire, Manx Healthcare will move from its existing premises at Wedgnock Lane, Warwick, to the new facilities at Tournament Fields.

The move will allow the business to grow with a room temperature, refrigerated storage facility, which is important for the import and deportation of pharmaceuticals.

Tournament Fields, due to its location in the same city and its access to national transportation networks, offered the company the ideal opportunity to sustain its growing business.

The business park is located off junction 15 of the M40 motorway, southwest of Warwick town center.

Tournament Fields is already home to a number of companies, including Semcon, Eagle Burgmann, Geberit, GFA, 3P Innovation and Scholastic.

Paul Shanley, Director of Clowes Developments, said: “We are delighted to welcome Manx Healthcare to Tournament Fields.

“We have worked closely with their team to come up with a program that will provide a tailor-made facility to meet their long-term needs.

“We look forward to seeing Manx Healthcare thrive in their brand new purpose built premises. “

Richard Taylor, President of Manx Healthcare, added: “This significant investment demonstrates our confidence in the future growth of our family business as a major supplier of essential medicines to the NHS, as well as a rapidly growing healthcare product line for take care of the public. “
