YOUTH leaders from across the country recently gathered at the Puerto Princesa Coliseum as the Department of Education (DepEd) successfully launched the Filipino Youth Convergence (PYC) 2022 with the theme, #YOUthBelong, Embracing Diversity, Atchieving Quality, and Inclusive Education for All.

Student leaders and learners in the 17 regions are to develop a youth education program and select regional youth organizers to provide evidence-based information and perspectives on various social, political, economic and environmental issues affecting the Filipino youth and the country during the three-day national event.

“In addition to imparting knowledge and wisdom to you, our young learners, the PYC was also developed to learn from you. The DepEd envisions the PYC as a way for young people to develop better policies regarding your education and your involvement in public affairs and civic affairs,” said Assistant Secretary for Youth Affairs and Special Concerns Juan Valeriano Respicio 4th.

With plenary lectures and panel discussions on topics including the state of Filipino youth, educational challenges affecting youth, child protection and financial literacy, delegates are set to shape the education agenda of young people that will reflect their perspectives, constructive comments and policy recommendations on DepEd Programs and Projects.
