ALABASTER – Parents who want to sign their kids up for summer sports and activities like soccer, flag football and cheering can start doing so on April 19.
Online registration for activities begins April 19 at 8 a.m. and ends June 1 at 11 p.m. Parents can also register their children at the Alabaster Parks and Recreation office at 200 Depot Street on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration for youth football is open to boys in grades 1 through 6 and incurs a fee of $ 165 for the first child. The uniform fittings will take place from July 6 to 12, depending on the player’s rank. Practice begins August 12 and the first games will be August 30.
Registration for the Youth Cheer is open from grades 1 to 6 and comes with a fee of $ 165 for the first child. The fittings for the cheerleaders’ uniforms will take place between June 28 and July 1. Practices will begin on August 2 and the first games will begin on August 30.
Registration for flag football will also be open to boys and girls in Kindergarten to Grade 8, and a registration fee of $ 115 will be charged for the first child. There will be 8 to 10 games per season. The match start date will be announced at a later date, but most matches will be played on Saturday.
There is a 10 percent multi-child discount for each activity after the first child has paid the full registration fee. All activities require a valid birth certificate filed with the Alabaster Parks and Recreation Department.
