Ready for summer? Witte, San Antonio Zoo, Youth Camps To Open Just In Time

Hello parents, teachers and students!

Can you feel that we are approaching the end of the school year? The weather is warming up and the kids are clearly eager to get out.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently announced that daycares and youth clubs could reopen immediately, and youth camps and sports could open on May 31.

Local school districts have announced their graduation plans for the Class of 2020 for high schools in the area, the latest being Judson ISD.

In the spotlight this week, we feature the Espinoza family and their 3 and 5 year old children who launched a virtual lemonade stand as a donation tool. In total, they raised $ 4000 for the San Antonio Food Bank. Path to follow!

Many family-friendly places are also starting to make public their reopening dates following the COVID-19 pandemic. The San Antonio Zoo and the Witte Museum have both announced their dates, but we’re still waiting for theme parks like Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld. We have an update on the reopening of the San Antonio pools.

For those looking to stay at home, KSAT Kids has several virtual offerings that can both entertain and educate the little ones indoors. The San Antonio Zoo offers exclusive virtual meetings with animals, and the San Antonio Public Library and Hemisfair have tons of digital content, including songs to sing, a virtual story hour, and even homework help.
