NORFOLK, Neb. – A Northeast Nebraska theater camp features Western themes at its annual youth theater camp at Northeast Community College.

On Saturday, the Norfolk Youth Theater Camp hosted two separate shows.

This year’s theme includes Western-style twists to performances. Director Libby McKay spoke about camp this year.

“We work on the kids all week in rehearsals, theater workshops and technical workshops,” McKay said. “They are involved in every element.”

McKay also said it was important to have drama camps in the Norfolk area.

“Because there are so many kids who I think want and want this opportunity to participate in the arts,” McKay said. “I think one of the things that this camp does is important is that we allow them to experience all of these different areas.”

The shows ran from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ages of the participating children ranged from 10 to 18 years old.
