A New Jersey college teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a minor who “was known to him,” authorities said.

Harry Wyatt, 53, of Piscataway, was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of second degree sexual assault, one count of fourth degree criminal sexual contact and one count of second degree endangerment child welfare, according to a joint statement from the Piscataway Police Department and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
Second-degree charges carry a prison sentence of five to ten years, the Bridgewater Courier News reported. Wyatt is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center awaiting a Superior Court detention hearing on Tuesday, the newspaper reported.
Wyatt is a teacher at the Leonard V. Moore High School, which is part of the Roselle School District in Union County, NJ.com reported. School officials could not be reached for comment on Monday evening, the website reported.
No further details of Wyatt’s arrest have been released, according to NJ.com.
