Here are five ideas for Pinal County parents looking for ways to help kids learn, grow, and have fun.

Casa Grande offers a number of activities for kids, teens and parents to enjoy this summer. For example, swimming lessons are available for ages 6 and up, intermediate skateboarding (sorry, the beginners course is full), art lessons, and even gong meditation for ages 13 and up.

The full list of classes can be found on the City of Casa Grande website, along with all applicable fees, times, and locations.

In Coolidge, summer camp sessions are available for children ages 5-12 beginning June 6. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition to summer camp, Coolidge is also offering swimming lessons starting June 6 for all ages and water aerobics starting June 7.

Water aerobics classes are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and there are evening classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Visit their website for more information.

Throughout Pinal County, the public library system sponsors summer reading activities for students of all grades and ages. This year’s theme is “Oceans of Possibilities” and each county library is hosting different events related to this theme.

In the San Tan Valley, for example, participants are encouraged to spend 600 ready minutes during the month of June to complete the program and be eligible for fun prizes. Please visit the Pinal County Library District website for more information.
