The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will be offering a list of creative activities for kids over the winter break that will preview innovative new programs and spaces that will debut in Minneapolis parks next year.
The free activity sample showcases the possibilities of MPRB’s Spark’d Studios initiative (formerly known as Creation Spaces), which kicked off with classes offered in a completely renovated music and video production center at the Powderhorn Recreation Center in 2021. Additional Spark’d Studios locations are slated to open in Luxton, Whittier and Harrison Parks.
There are limited places available in some of the programs listed below, all of which are available at no cost. Register online by clicking on the program title, or drop by any MPRB recreation center and register in person. Visit minneapolisparks.org/register to search thousands of programs for youth and adults across the park system, including many spring break activities. Face mask compulsory inside all MPRB buildings.
Do you want to capture nature in your neighborhood? How about having fun with family and friends? Participants will learn the basics of photography using their device or a device provided by MPRB. Day 1 will be working on getting the right shot, and Day 2 will focus on editing some of our favorites.
