Collecting sanitary napkins to keep girls in school

HELP: New Generation Elementary School was one of four schools that benefited from Keep a Girl in School’s recent sanitary pad drive

The Keep a Girl in School sanitary campaign took place at Spargs Shopping Center in Beacon Bay, with the aim of providing sanitary napkins to students to help them avoid missing school.

“We have collected an overwhelming amount of sanitary napkins,” said Keep a Girl in School founder Dinika Rooy.

“The support has been incredible and we are grateful to those who have supported our training.

“This will be an ongoing initiative that we will continue to do throughout the year.”

The sanitary napkins were handed over on Thursday, May 27.

Meyers Motors and Rooy were able to provide sanitary napkins, exercise books and toys to four local schools in east London, namely Duncan Village Primary School, Aspiranza Primary School, Nompulelo Primary School and the New Generation Primary School.

Those who wish to continue supporting the initiative can drop off their donated sanitary napkins and feminine hygiene products at any Meyers Motors branch in east London throughout this month.

For more information, contact Rooy at 074-804-5010 or Meyers Motors at 043-701-6600.
