FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Local organizations in Fayette County are bringing outdoor experiences to young people this summer.
From June 8 until July 29, Adventure: Fayette County will take place in various local parks with free outdoor activities.
Active Southern West Virginia will be attending and Executive Director Melanie Seiler says it’s a great opportunity for families to stay healthy this summer.
“We look forward to programs in June and July and throughout the summer to give children great opportunities to get active, stay healthy and bring families to the parks,” Seiler said.
The events are also organized for the prevention of drug addiction, the idea being that they can offer other experiences to young people as they have a lot of free time during the summer.
They will also be offering water events on Wednesdays at Fayette County 4H Park.
Adventure: Fayette County will be hosting free, hands-on activities for young people at these parks: Mt. Hope Roadside Park, Fayetteville Town Park, the Midland Trail Community Center and the Smithers Gateway Center.
Adventure: The county of Fayette is also looking for volunteers. For more information, visit their Facebook pager aventurefayette.org
